The Company

Our client has gained a reputation for providing highly specialized Fabrication and Welding services to clients in the Oil & Gas, Mining, Architectural, Automotive, Manufacturing and Construction Industries. Based in O’Connor our client predominately takes on, one off custom jobs that require a high level of technical fabrication and welding.

Due to an increase in work, our client is looking for an experienced Boiler Maker Welder or 1st Class Welder (that possess fabrication skills) to join their small and highly professional team.


Working Hours & Days

  • Location: O’Connor
  • Working Days: Monday to Friday
  • Working Hours: 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM (May Vary)
  • Every 2nd Friday: 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM

     

The Role

The available role will require a highly skilled Fabricator and Welder that is able to work off shop drawings, mark up steel, cut steel, layout steel and weld up to 3G positions.

Our client predominately uses top end MIG GMAW (Solid Wire) Welding units that can automatically set voltage and wire feed speed for the specific metal type and thickness. The role is 80% MIG GMAW Welding mainly 1G and 2G Positions.

In addition, our client is a Recognized Trainer, where all in-house Fabricators and Welders will be tested and obtain a qualification for AS 1554.1 (Structural Welding Part 1).

The main responsibilities of the role will include;

  • MIG-GMAW Welding (Gas Metal Arc - Flux Cored Solid Wire) – 80% of the role
  • Working off 2D Shop Drawings, General Arrangements (Cut Sheets) & Detailed Plans (2D & 3D)
  • Welding 1G, 2G & 3G Positions
  • Measuring & Marking up Steel
  • Cutting Steel – Drop Saw, Band Saw & Oxy
  • Laying out cut steel to plans
  • MIG-GMAW Welding

 

The Candidate

The available role requires a very versatile candidate that has a metal fabrication trade or has been classed or worked as the following;

  • Boiler Making Welding
  • Heavy Fabrication & Welding
  • 1st Class Welder – With Fabrication Experience


Apart from your Fabrication and Welding skills we are also seeking a proactive candidate that possess initiative and good problem solving skills in managing and planning their work from reviewing plans, estimating time frames for specific tasks, cutting steel, laying out and welding.

Having a positive attitude and the ability to be proactive in all work tasks is something that we will be focussing on in the recruitment process.  In addition, having excellent English communications skills is essential as you will be regularly liaising with Team Members and the Fabrication Supervisor in all facets of your work.

Remuneration

This is a Temp to Perm role where initially the successful candidate will be employed on a casual basis through Staff-Net for 3 to 6 months and then will be signed over onto our clients books on a full time basis.

Depending on your prior work experience and qualifications the pay rate will be between;

  • $45.00 to $55.00 Per Hour + Super (Flat)
  • Paid Weekly
